Concerns for COVID-19 results in postponement of annual women's conference

On March 11, 2020, Founder and President Eleassia Davis of Women's Small Business Network of San Joaquin issued a Press Release stating that the Board of Directors had voted to postpone the organization's Annual "I Stand On Her Shoulders" Women's Conference out of an abundance of caution. After a series of cautionary directives from Governor Gavin Newsom and the World Health Organization's declaration of COVID-19 as a pandemic, the directors felt it a moral responsibility to postpone the conference in favor of protecting the safety and health of conference guest.

Since that announcement, the Governor has issued a State Executive Order calling for all Californians to Shelter in Place. This order means all businesses with the exception of those critical to maintaining essential infrastucture within the State.. Nearly all businesses and public schools within the State have closed and all major and minor events have been either postponed or canceled since the order went into effect on March 20th, 2020.

As of this posting, a new conference date has not been selected as the State of California is currently under an Executive Order to Shelter in Place until further notice. Women's Small Business Network of San Joaquin is closely following the situation and will keep the public updated on any new developments regarding the conference.
